Here is a truth: renovating a basement bathroom is deeply satisfying. So many clients that we work with have fairly low expectations for their basement bathroom. Often tucked away in a corner, it’s viewed as a utilitarian space of the get-in-get-out variety. It’s often so badly in need of a renovation that anything newer will do. An afterthought, basically.
But this doesn’t have to be the case, not at all. In fact, past clients often tell me that their renovated bathroom has become the bathroom of choice in their house.

selecting the fixtures
We’re so excited to unveil the selections for the new bathroom in the mimi pineau design office suite! Which just happens to be conveniently on the lower level of our home... After office hours, it just may become my new favourite spot to unwind. So it needs to be stylish, of course! For this project, we’re partnering with Grohe, a luxury brand whose excellent quality and upscale style aligns perfectly with our design goals. We started the fixture selection by selecting one of style drivers of the bathroom, the faucet. This sleek wall-mounted Allure faucet is a space saver, and the single lever will be very easy to operate.

We’ve designed a rather spacious shower (in this case, space itself is also a luxury feature).The wafer-thin F-Series rain shower head mounts flush to the ceiling, which allows for maximum height, and creates a luxurious, built-in look. The controls are visually straightforward and easy to operate (helpful for younger kids or guests!). Can’t wait to test this one out! Adding a Cosmopolitan hand shower will create the ultimate showering combination, while making cleaning a breeze.

We’ve opted for a sparkling chrome finish for all of the plumbing fixtures, which ties in with our clean, minimal look. Carefully considered choices and professional-quality workmanship can result in a bathroom space that everyone will gravitate to using.
